Beyond Design

My creative journey extends beyond graphic design into the world of hands-on artistry. Through embroidery, crochet, baking, and other crafts, I explore themes of love, resilience, beauty and personal growth. This gallery showcases the passion and stories stitched, looped, baked,  and crafted into every piece.

Ignorance is Bliss (2024)

Ignorance is Bliss is a collection of embroidered pieces that highlight the things people have said about pregnancy and infant loss—sometimes well-meaning, but often clueless or hurtful. Each piece features a quote capturing the awkward, ignorant, or just plain wrong words spoken to fellow loss parents who I’ve met online. This series is about giving voice to our shared experiences and encouraging people to think about how their words might affect someone who is grieving.

It's My Party & I'll Cry If I Want To (2023)

Birthdays and holidays used to be purely joyous occasions. After experiencing such a profound loss, they’ve become bittersweet, always intertwined with grief. There’s now an unmistakable missing piece. I’ll forever wonder what it would have been like to open Christmas gifts with all three of my girls or plan a birthday party for Clementine—a celebration she’ll never get to share with her family. This collection is born from those imagined moments, creating a space where we can celebrate together, even if only in spirit.

Bodies in Bloom (2022)

This series is all about taking the parts of my body I’ve struggled to love and turning them into something beautiful. Each piece highlights those areas, covering them in hand-stitched flowers to show how even our “imperfect” parts can bloom with beauty.

Bodies in Bloom is my way of learning to embrace myself and see the things I don’t always like in a softer, more loving light. It’s a reminder that growth and beauty can happen anywhere—even in the places we least expect.

Parallel Art Show (2021)

Motherhood can spark an abundance of creativity — from watching the world through fresh eyes and exhaustion to witnessing a person you helped to shape, make their own way. As a mother and a maker we can often feel caught between the urge to create and the energy shortages of being a mother. This is a show to celebrate all that we are as woman, our parallel identities of artist and mother.

Immortality

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.
